How Do I Maintain My ACP Phone Service When It Winds Down?

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is set to end soon according to the recent notification from the FCC as new ACP enrollments were frozen completely on February 8, 2024. Without additional funding, ACP pays its full benefit only until April 30, 2024, with a partial benefit in May.  AirTalk Wireless will provide you with your full-service plan in May regardless of the level of the ACP benefit. You also can opt out of your AirTalk service at any time.

Lifeline benefits are still available

There is no need to hurry and cancel your current ACP/Lifeline Combo Plan, as Lifeline benefits are still available.  AirTalk Wireless is authorized to provide Lifeline services in over 50 states. Once ACP is discontinued, you’ll still be able to keep your connection with your Lifeline service without any additional steps on your end. What is happening with ACP?

Due to the decrease in funding from Congress, the FCC anticipates that the current funding for the ACP program is projected to run out at the end of May 2024.

What causes transfer out?

  • Benefit is limited to one per household. Meaning that it cannot be used for both home internet and phone service, or multiple people cannot all sign up for the same benefit at the same address.  
  • Registering or applying with multiple providers simultaneously may result in your benefits being transferred from one provider to another. It is advisable to register with one provider at a time and wait for a response before attempting to apply with a different provider. 
  • If you receive a notice from AirTalk stating your benefit was transferred out and you did not authorize this:
    • Sign the transfer agreement right away to avoid interruption to service 
    • Contact the ACP support center and report that your benefit was moved to an unknown provider without your consent.

How to prevent future unauthorized transfer out?

  • AirTalk Wireless does not employ field agents outside of our store locations. Store Locator (airtalkwireless.com) 
  • When presented with an offer for a free phone/service be aware of what you are signing up for and who you are signing up with as this could affect your service with Airtalk 
  • If you receive a notice from AirTalk stating your benefit was transferred out and you did not authorize this:
    • Sign the transfer agreement right away to avoid interruption to service 
    • Contact the ACP support center and report that your benefit was moved to an unknown provider without your consent.

Risk if you transfer out

  • You can lose your ACP benefits 
  • We might NOT be able to Transfer you back into AirTalk Wireless 
  • You will lose your service benefits (unlimited talk, reduce data monthly allowance) 
  • You will lose your mobile phone number and we will not be able to recover it.

        How do I know if I am ACP, LIFELINE OR BOTH? I am unsure of which program I got my free wifi through . I received the Sim card and paid the fee to receive the tablet. But I don’t know if it was one or the other or both. I DO NOT want to lose my services at all. I am one who at this time cannot afford the monthly cost.to have communication availability at all times. I need help to know what I should be doing or if doing anythjng.??. Please help me to better understand and to know what exactly I am to do.??. Please and thank you for your time and assistance on this matter.

    • It states I am a ACP customer but under lifeline it says no. How do I fix that? Should I call you guys?

        For your best benefits, you could opt-in for Linelife to get the full benefit of the COMBO plan and You will have the privilege to continue using our free service even after the ACP ends.  

        In case you love this choice, the first step, kindly log in to your account with an ID as your Enrollment ID and password as your Enrollment ID without WAT. In the second step, scroll down to find the plan status and choose “Opt in”.

    I am an active airtalk/ airvoice customer with the combo plan acp/lifeline. I would really like to upgrade my phone and when I try to upgrade my phone after I select my phone the system say error that I’m an active airtalk customer already and for that I cannot finish my application at this time. I really don’t see why I have to fill out an application anyways because
    I have the service already and I have a phone I just want to order a better phone and pay for the phone out of my pocket. Why can’t I upgrade my device? Help me upgrade please! Thank you
